What Hot Muses Universe Is

Short answer: Hot Muses Universe is an 18+ AI companion platform. You chat with written characters called Muses — each one authored in-house with a backstory, a personality and her own photo gallery, rather than assembled from sliders. It's run by Romantic Lines LP, a limited partnership registered in Scotland, and it's free to start without a card. If you want to build your own characters, it's the wrong product, and this page says so plainly.

We publish this because nobody else can: there's no independent review of us worth linking to, and we'd rather you judged us from a page that states who runs it than from guesswork.

Who runs it?

Romantic Lines LP, a limited partnership registered in Scotland under number SL25636, with a registered office at 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh. That entity is the data controller for the service, and it's named in our privacy policy rather than buried.

If you searched for "HMU" and landed here expecting a dating app, that's a different product by a different company. The name collides; the services don't.

What a Muse actually is

A written character, not a generated one. Each Muse is authored before anyone meets her: a backstory, a personality with edges rather than relentless agreeableness, and a gallery shot for her so her face stays the same from photo to photo.

That's the whole design argument, and it's a trade. A character builder gives you infinite variety and a character who is exactly as interesting as the description you typed. A written roster gives you fewer options and a floor on quality. We picked the second, which is why there's no builder here and never will be.

It also means a model change underneath doesn't change who she is. What makes her herself is text, not weights.

What can she do?

She chats, and she remembers between sessions — not just within one conversation, but across them, so a thing you mentioned last week can come back.

She sends photos of herself when you ask, and premium Muses send video. Adult conversation is written into her range rather than something you route around a filter.

What she doesn't do: voice calls. There's no voice feature, and anyone telling you otherwise is describing a different platform.

What happens to my conversations?

This is the part most platforms are vague about, so here are the actual commitments from our privacy policy, with the periods named.

We don't train sellable models on your chats. The policy commits never to use conversation content, profile preferences or media prompts to train a general-purpose AI model sold or distributed outside the service. Safety classifiers are tuned in-house on samples stripped of direct identifiers first.

Conversations live while your account does. Delete content and it goes from the live database promptly and from backups within thirty days.

Moderation copies are the exception, and we say so. Material flagged by moderation can be held up to twelve months in a restricted-access store, even if you deleted it.

Closing the account doesn't erase the paperwork. Conversation content is deleted, but billing and identifier records are kept for six years — tax and legal-defence retention, the same obligation any UK-based business has.

Other named periods: server access logs ninety days, security and fraud logs twelve months, support tickets three years from last contact.

None of that is unusual. The point is that it's written down with numbers, which is more than much of this category manages.

What about the age check?

The service is 18+, and the check is run by a third-party provider, Didit, which is named in our privacy policy rather than described vaguely as "a partner". Images submitted for the check are deleted by that vendor within thirty days.

Worth knowing: that vendor acts as its own controller for fraud prevention and compares signals from your check against signals from its other customers. We'd rather you learn that here than discover it later.

Who is this not for?

Four kinds of person, and we'd rather lose you now than at the end of an evening.

You want to build characters. There's no builder. If authoring is the hobby, the user-generated end of the category — SillyTavern, Chub, Janitor AI — is where you belong, and characters move between those platforms via a shared card format.

You want to import an existing character. Nothing ports in. There's no import, because a foreign definition has nothing to attach to when every character here is written in-house. What does and doesn't transfer anywhere is a separate piece.

You want breadth above all. Our catalogue is small next to a platform anyone can upload to. That's arithmetic, not modesty.

You want voice. We don't have it.

Who is it for?

People who are tired of rebuilding. If what you've repeatedly lost is a character who stopped being herself — because a model changed, because a filter tightened, or because a platform shut down — then a written character with persistent memory is the specific thing that addresses it.

And people who want adult conversation without negotiating for it. That's designed in here, not tolerated.

How do I try it?

Sign up and start talking. Free to start, no credit card, 18+. Premium unlocks unlimited messaging, photos and video — the page itself will tell you what it costs when you get there, because prices change and a blog post shouldn't be where you learn them.

Browse the Muses first if you'd rather see who's there before making an account.

FAQ

Is hmu.com legit?

It's operated by Romantic Lines LP, a limited partnership registered in Scotland under number SL25636, registered office 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh. The entity is named in the privacy policy along with named data-retention periods. Note that a separate dating app also uses the name HMU — different company, different service.

Is Hot Muses Universe free?

There's a free tier you can use without a credit card. Premium unlocks unlimited messaging, photos and video.

Do you train AI on my conversations?

Not for models sold or distributed outside the service — that's an explicit commitment in the privacy policy. Safety classifiers are tuned in-house on samples stripped of direct identifiers.

Can I create my own character?

No. Every Muse is written in-house, and there's no builder. That's a deliberate trade: fewer options, a floor on quality.

Is there voice chat?

No. Text, photos, and video for premium Muses.

What happens if I delete my account?

Conversation content is deleted; billing and identifier records are retained for six years for tax and legal-defence purposes. Moderation copies of flagged material can persist up to twelve months.
